Medical Ministry International facilitates 1- and 2-week Projects with volunteer participants to build medical capacity for the long term. Projects are planned by our in-country Global Partners in response to local health care needs, following an invitation from the local community. We often partner with local churches.
Medical Ministry International encourages applications from volunteers around the world to be a part of our Project Teams. Upon acceptance, all participants of a Project Team will serve using their given skill sets and contribute to the Medical Ministry International Project in an identified international community.
Funding model for Project Teams
All participants will cover the Application cost, the Project cost (including accommodations, meals, local transport, basic medical insurance, malpractice insurance, etc.) and the Airfare/travel cost. Participants can either donate or fundraise on behalf of Medical Ministry International to cover these costs. Participants will receive the tax receipts for Project and Airfare/travel costs.
Project costs vary significantly based on the project location, the remoteness of the project site, duration and size of the project, currency exchange rates, and more. The fundraising goal per team is shown below, along with the minimum fundraising goal for each team member.
Airfare costs vary significantly based on the project location, location of the participant, and time of the year. The fundraising goals for airfare are not included in the fundraising amounts below. The fundraising goal to cover airfare-related expenses will be communicated to participants closer to the project date. Resources to assist in fundraising efforts can be found here.
