Memo Regarding COVID-19

Dear Supporters & Participants,

Medical Ministry International has been monitoring the changing landscape of the COVID-19 outbreak over the past two weeks and assessing our program schedule on a per project basis.  The Leadership Team has been communicating with many North American participants, Medical Directors, and International Project Directors to discuss the impact on the communities our teams will serve. We have made the decision to postpone all 7 upcoming projects thru the end of April, and one additional team in May. Each project team has received communications regarding the specifics related to each country. Throughout these conversations, one thing remained constant: people’s desire to serve and care for others, with an agreement that we will continue to do so when the time is right.

The words of Leeland’s song, Way Maker ring true for us today:

“You are here, Moving in our midst, I worship you…

Way maker, Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness, That is who you are”

I invite you to join with me in prayer as God reveals the way He is making to direct each of us personally, to bring healing, and to open up the borders and airlines so we can continue to provide health care for lasting change, and proclaim the Kingdom of God to all nations.

For those currently registered on projects, I am asking you to wait with us and see how the international situation develops in the coming weeks. We are hopeful that some May projects, and all those for June and beyond, will proceed as planned. That said, each participant will need to consider his/her unique situation and health status when considering international travel, given existing risks. More detailed communications will happen with individual project teams as the departure dates get closer and we have more accurate information.

Do reach out to our office if we can assist you in any way.

In Him,

Leanne H. Ferris, HBSc, MBA
